You can customize it with different color combinations to match your home décor or seasonal themes. Whether you use it for table decorations, wall art, or as a gift embellishment, this 3D crochet flower adds a lovely handmade touch to any space.

Materials

  • 2-ply wool yarn in white, orange, and yellow
  • 3.0 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors and yarn needle

Base (White Yarn)

  • Make a slip knot and chain 6.
  • Slip stitch into the first chain to form a small circle.
  • Chain 2 (does not count as a stitch).
  • Make a 4-loop puff stitch in the center circle, chain 2.
  • Repeat puff stitch and chain 2 until you have 8 puff stitches total.

Crochet Flower Center 1

  • Slip stitch into the top of the first puff stitch to close the round.

V-Stitches (Orange Yarn)

  • Attach orange yarn to any chain-2 space with a single crochet.
  • Chain 2, then chain 2 more for the V-stitch gap.
  • Make a double crochet in the same chain-2 space (V-stitch formed).
  • Chain 3 for the space between stitches.
  • Repeat V-stitch (DC, Ch 2, DC) in next chain-2 space, then chain 3.

Crochet Flower Center 2

  • Continue until you have 8 V-stitches total.
  • Slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the starting chain 2 to close the round.

Petals and Shells (Orange)

  • Slip stitch twice into the chain-2 gap of the V-stitch to position the hook.
  • Slip stitch into the post of the second DC of the V-stitch.
  • Chain 3 (counts as first DC).
  • Make 5 more DC around the post of the same DC (6 total).

Crochet Flower Center 3

  • Make 6 DC around the post of the first DC of the same V-stitch (12 DC total per petal).
  • Chain 1.
  • In next chain-3 space, work 4 DC, chain 2, 4 DC (shell).
  • Chain 1 and repeat around the entire flower (8 petals total).
  • Slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the starting chain 3.

Edging (Yellow Yarn)

  • Attach yellow yarn to the first stitch of any petal with a single crochet.
  • Work 1 single crochet in each of the 12 double crochets of the petal.
  • In the shell section, work 1 single crochet into each of the first 4 double crochets.

Crochet Flower Center 4

  • In the chain-2 gap, make single crochet, chain 2, single crochet.
  • Work 1 single crochet into each of the next 4 double crochets.
  • Repeat around the flower.
  • Finish and weave in ends. Optionally add a bead or stitch detail in the center.
