Materials

  • Bernat Blanket Yarn (main body color)
  • Worsted weight yarn or felt for face features
  • Size 6 crochet hook
  • Yarn needle and sewing needle
  • Scissors
  • Polyfill stuffing
  • Nylon pouch or nylon sock (optional)
  • Stitch markers
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Safety eyes (optional)

Arm & Leg Pieces (Make 2 Sets)

Begin with a 25-inch yarn tail and make a slip knot

  • Create 3 longtail foundation base chains
  • Chain 1 with working yarn
  • Turn and slip stitch into the first 2 stitches
  • Work 4 half-double crochets into the last stitch
  • On the other side, slip stitch into the next 2 stitches to form the foot
  • Slip stitch into the corner stitch that sticks out to close the foot
  • Turn to the top side and insert hook into the center hole at the back of the foot
  • Pull up a loop and tighten it to begin the leg
  • Crochet 25 longtail foundation base chains for the leg
  • Chain 4
  • Slip stitch into the first chain to make a thumb
  • Chain 3, slip stitch into the same space
  • Repeat chain 3 and slip stitch two more times for fingers
  • Cut the yarn, pull through to cinch
  • Tie the start and end tails in a square knot
  • Thread tails into the yarn needle and hide inside the leg

  • Confirm arms and legs are aligned correctly

Add Face
