- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- Darning needle
- 16 to 18 mm security eyes

Start:
- With brown yarn, make a slip knot and chain 2. Work 6 single crochets (sc) in the 2nd chain from the hook.
Round 1:
- Use a stitch marker to mark the start of the round. Work 6 increases (2 sc in each stitch around), bringing your stitch count to 12.
Round 2:
- Work 1 sc in each stitch around (12 sc).
For Round 3:
- Work two sc, then a decrease (sc two stitches together). Repeat around to get a stitch count of 9.
Rounds 4-8:
- Work 9 sc around for 5 rounds.
Closing:
- Close the gap by pulling yarn through both sides of the opening, securing and cutting the yarn.
Legs (Make 2):
Start:
- Similar to arms, with brown yarn.
Round 1:
- Make 6 sc in a circle.
Round 2:
- Work 6 increases (12 sc).
For Rounds 3-7:

Finishing:
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Body:
Joining legs:
- With a chain 1, connect both legs. Work 8 sc on one leg, 1 increase in chain 1 space, and 8 sc on the other leg.
Following rounds:
- Increase the stitch count as you work up the body, filling with fiber fill as you go.
Decrease rounds:
- Begin body decreases after several rounds, following the pattern (5 sc, decrease) around, then fewer sc between decreases as instructed.
Head:
Start:
- After finishing the body, without cutting the yarn, start the head by working increases to double your stitch count.
Eye Placement:
- Insert the security eyes as instructed in the pattern.
Shape the face:
- Continue shaping the head with rounds of single crochet, decreasing gradually to shape the head.
Ears and Antlers (Cream yarn for antlers):
Ears:
- Work similarly to arms/legs, starting with a round of 6 sc, then increase and shape as instructed.
Antlers:
- Work 5 sc in a magic loop, continue in rounds, increasing for larger antler piece. Join smaller and larger pieces to form antler shapes.
Muzzle:
Start:

Next rounds:
- Increase and work even to create a rounded muzzle shape.
Finishing:
- Attach to the face, then add the nose and details with black yarn for the mouth.
