Materials Needed:
- 3 mm crochet hook
- 8 ply acrylic yarn (color of your choice, white is used in the example)
- Scissors
Granny Square Pattern:

Creating the First Granny Square:
Start the Granny Square:
- Create a slip knot.
- Chain 7 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1:
- Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet).
- Work 3 double crochets into the ring.
- Chain 3 to form the first corner.
- Make 4 sets of 4 double crochets separated by a chain of 3 in each until you have four sides.
- End round 1 by chain 3 and slip stitch into the top of the initial chain 3.

Round 2:
- Chain 3 and begin working into corners and spaces from the previous round.
- In each corner space: work 4 double crochets together, chain 4, do a triple crochet, chain 6, and complete with another triple crochet in the same space.
- Completing the round involves closing with a slip stitch into the top of the beginning chain 3, followed by cutting the yarn and securing it.
Connecting Additional Granny Squares:

Creating and Connecting the Second Square:
- Begin as with the first square.
- When reaching the corner where the join will happen, instead of chaining 6 between triple crochets, chain 3, then use a slip stitch to join to the corresponding corner chain space of the first square, chain 3 back on the current square, and complete the corner with a triple crochet.
Joining Along the Side:
- Replace some chaining spaces with connections to the adjacent side of the prior square using single crochets to connect into chain spaces.

Complete the Second Square:
- Continue as normal until you reach another corner or side that needs joining. Adapt the pattern to include joins where necessary.
Third Square and Beyond:
- Repeat the process, ensuring that each new square connects appropriately at corners and sides, creating a continuous piece.

Finishing Touches:
- Once all squares are connected, finish off any loose ends.
- Consider adding a border around the entire piece if it's a standalone item or more squares if it's part of a bigger project.
