Crochet Baby Pumpkin Amigurumi
Materials Needed:
Yarn in three colors:
- Main color for the pumpkin
- Green for the leaves and vine
- Brown for the stalk
3 mm crochet hook
- Darning needle
- Scissors
Pumpkin Body:
Start with a slip knot.
- Chain 10 (for security, although you need 8 chains); keep your finger on the 10th chain.
- Add three more chains. These count as the first triple crochet.
- In the 10th chain from the hook, work a cluster stitch (described as triple crochet clusters):
- Yarn over twice, insert hook into the 10th chain.
- Pull through to loop, pull through two loops, keep loop on hook.
- Repeat twice more in the same stitch so you have four loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and pull through all loops. This is your first cluster.
- Chain 1, move to the next stitch, repeat the cluster stitch around the chain until you have eight clusters in total.
Vine:
- Chain 9 for the vine, cut the yarn, fasten off.
Assembly:
- Sew the shape closed along the side. Run darning needle through each cluster stitch at the bottom, pull to gather, and secure with a knot.
Attach the brown yarn at the top for the stalk:
- Chain 4, work a slip stitch back down the chain.
- Finish with a slip stitch into the base of the chain, cut yarn, and weave in ends.
Final Touch:
- Shape the pumpkin by adjusting the fill and sewing closed the bottom. Hide all yarn ends.
