Adorable Crochet Christmas Elf Ornament Tutorial

Materials:

• Wine cork
• 1 in wooden doll head
• Super glue or hot glue
• F crochet hook
• Yarn in your choice of color (green for the body, red and white for the hat)
• Yarn needle
• Felt
• Sharpie

• CH: Chain
• SC: Single crochet
• SL ST: Slip stitch
• Inc: Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)

Pattern:

Body:

• Make a magic ring and SC 6 in the ring.
• CH 1, SC inc in each stitch around (12 SC total).
• CH 1, SC in the back loop of each stitch around (12 SC total).
• Repeat steps 3-7 for 7 total rounds (84 SC total).
• CH 1, SL ST in the first stitch, cut the yarn and weave in the end.

Hat:

• Make a magic ring and SC 3 in the ring.
• CH 1, SC inc in each stitch around (6 SC total).
• Repeat step 2 for 1 round (6 SC total).
• CH 1, SC inc, SC in the next stitch around (9 SC total).
• Repeat step 4 for 1 round (9 SC total).
• CH 1, SC inc, SC in the next 2 stitches around (12 SC total).
• SC 12 around.
• CH 1, SC inc, SC in the next 3 stitches around (15 SC total).
• SC 15 around.

Assembly:

• Glue the wine cork to the wooden doll head.
• Glue the hat to the top of the head.
• Draw the face on the doll head with a Sharpie.
• Wrap a piece of felt around the neck of the doll and tie a knot.
• Optionally, string a piece of yarn through the top of the hat and tie a knot to hang the ornament.
