From Skein to Pokémon Cute Crochet Mudkip Amigurumi Pattern

Imagine bringing to life your very own Mudkip Amigurumi, a beloved crochet pocket monster that captures hearts with its cute, finned appearance. With just a few simple materials like yarn, a crochet hook, and a sprinkle of creativity, you can stitch together a little buddy that's all set for big adventures or to just comfortingly sit by your side.

Materials Needed:

  • Yarn (in blue, light blue, and black colors)
  • Crochet hook
  • Safety eyes
  • Stuffing material
  • Yarn needle

Head Fin:

  • Start with a slip knot, chain 6.
  • Single crochet in the second chain from the hook, single crochet 3 more.
  • In the final chain, single crochet 3 times.
  • On the other side of the chain, single crochet 3.
  • Increase (2 single crochets in the same stitch) in the last stitch.
  • You should have 12 stitches in round one.

Round two:

  • single crochet 5, then increase, single crochet 5, then increase in the last stitch. You should have 14 stitches.

For rounds three and four:

  • single crochet in each stitch around.

Round five:

  • Single crochet 5, decrease, single crochet 5, and then decrease again.
  • You should have 12 stitches.

Round six:

  • Single crochet 1 and decrease, repeat for a total of 4 times to end up with 8 stitches.
  • Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Mudkip's Head:

  • Start with a magic ring, single crochet 6 for the first round.
  • Increase in each stitch for round two (12 stitches total).

For round three & four:

  • single crochet 1, then increase around for a total of 18 stitches.
  • Increase every alternate stitch to reach 24 stitches.

Round five:

  • single crochet 3 and then increase for a total of 30 stitches.

For rounds six:

  • Through eight, single crochet in each stitch around.

Change color to light blue:

  • Crochet one stitch in every stitch around for a total of 30 stitches.
  • Pause here to sew on the head fin and attach the safety eyes.

Head Fin Decreases:

Round ten:

  • single crochet 3, then decrease for a total of 24 stitches.

Round eleven:

  • single crochet 2, then decrease for a total of 18 stitches.

For Round twelve:

  • single crochet 1, then decrease for a total of 12 stitches.
  • Stuff the head before decreasing further.

Round thirteen:

  • decrease six times for a total of 6 stitches, then finish off and close.

Cheeks and Whiskers:

  • For cheeks, make 2 magic rings.
  • Chain up 2 and make 10 half-double crochets into the ring, slip stitch to first half-double crochet.
  • For whiskers, chain 4, slip stitch in the back loops of the chains, and make 3 segments of varying lengths, finishing with a slip stitch.
  • Sew the cheeks and whiskers onto the face.

Body:

  • Start with a magic ring and single crochet 6.
  • Increase each round until you have 18 stitches.
  • Continue with one single crochet in each stitch for six rounds.
  • Decrease in the last round to have 12 stitches, stuff the body, and sew it onto the head.

Feet:

  • Magic ring with 4 single crochets into it.
  • Slip stitch to the first single crochet.
  • Make 4 feet like this and sew them to the body.

Tail Fin:

  • Similar to head fin: chain 6, single crochet around the chain with strategic increases and decreases until you have the desired shape.
  • Sew the tail fin to the body.

Finishing Touches:

  • Embroider lines onto the head and tail fins using a suitable stitch, such as a backstitch.
