Materials
- Main Color Yarn: Approx. 100g (toe, foot, and cuff)
- Highlight Color Yarn: Approx. 25g (for ruffle accent rows)
- Hook: 3.5 mm (or 4 mm for a looser stitch)
The Toe and Foot
- Create a slip knot and chain 3.
- Work 8 hdc into the first chain, then slip stitch to join.
- Ch 1, work 2 hdc in each stitch around, sl st to join.
- Ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, sl st to join.
- Ch 1, work (1 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch) around, sl st to join.
- Continue working 1 hdc in each stitch around for the next 16 rows (total of 20 rows from the start) to create the foot length.

The Heel
- Ch 1 and work hdc across, leaving the last 6 stitches unworked. Ch 1 and turn.
- Work 1 hdc in every stitch, ch 1 and turn.
- Repeat for a total of 33 rows to form the heel flap.
- Fold the heel so both sides meet and join using the back loops only, slip stitching across to close the heel cup.
The Ankle and Cuff
- Attach main color yarn around the ankle opening.

- Ch 1 and work sc evenly around to create the base.
- Ch 1, hdc around for two rounds.
- Ch 1, hdc in the back loop only (BLO) for the next round to create the base for Ruffle 1.
- Continue with several more hdc rounds, alternating normal and BLO rounds to set up Ruffles 2 and 3.

Adding the Ruffles
- Work into the front loops (FL) of the marked BLO rows.
- For each ruffle, ch 1 and work 2 hdc into each front loop around.
- Optionally, add a highlight color accent by working 1 sc in each stitch across the ruffle edge.

- Repeat for all ruffle base rows.
