Getting Started
- Yarn and Hook: Use a 4mm crochet hook and double-knitting yarn. The video uses white as the main color and blue as the secondary color.
- Initial Chain: Start with the secondary color (blue). For the 0-3 month size, chain 62 chains.

The Ribbing
- Round 1: Skip the first three chains and double crochet into the fourth chain. Continue making one double crochet in each chain until you have 60 total double crochets (for the 0-3 month size). Join with a slip stitch.
- Round 2: Chain three, and then alternate between a front post double crochet and a back post double crochet all the way around. Join with a slip stitch.
- Round 3: Repeat the pattern from Round 2.
- Round 4: Switch to the main color (white) and repeat the front and back post double crochet pattern. Join with a slip stitch to finish the ribbing.

The Main Pattern
- Round 1: Slip stitch into the space between the first three chains and the first front post double crochet.
- Chain three and make two more double crochets in the same space.
- Skip the next three double crochets and make three double crochets in the space between the third and fourth double crochets.
- Continue this "three double crochet in a space" pattern all the way around and join with a slip stitch.
- Subsequent Rounds: Continue the same pattern of making three double crochets into each space from the previous round.
- For the 0-3 month size, you will need a total of nine rounds of this pattern.

Decreasing and Finishing
- Round 10: Chain three and make one double crochet in the same space.
- Make two double crochets into each space all the way around. Join with a slip stitch.
- Round 11: Chain three, and then make a double crochet (leaving the last loop on the hook).
- In the next space, make two double crochets (leaving the last loop on the hook for each), and pull the yarn through all five loops on the hook to join them.
- Continue this pattern all the way around and join with a slip stitch.

- Last Round: Chain one and make one single crochet into each of the stitches from the previous round.
- Join with a slip stitch and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail to close the hole.
- Use a needle to close the hole at the top of the hat and secure it with a knot.
Pom-Pom
- Attach a pom-pom to the top of the hat.
- You can make a two-color pom-pom using a pom-pom maker, or use cardboard for a simple method.
