  • Crochet hook to match your yarn (5.5mm suggested)
  • Stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Embroidery eyes or black yarn
  • Stitch marker

Abbreviations

  • SC = Single Crochet
  • Inc = Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
  • Dec = Decrease (Invisible Decrease method)
  • FLO = Front Loop Only
  • MR = Magic Ring

Tail and Body

  • Round 1: MR, chain 1, 4 SC into ring. (4)
  • Round 2: (SC, Inc) repeat 2 times. (6)
  • Round 3: (2 SC, Inc) repeat 2 times. (8)
  • Round 4: (3 SC, Inc) repeat 2 times. (10)

Body: SC around in all stitches.

Crochet Simple Snake 1

  • Continue until snake reaches desired length.
  • Stuff as you go.
  • Add color changes if you want stripes.

  • Round 9: (8 SC, Inc) repeat 2 times. (20)

  • Round 10: SC in each stitch around. (20)
  • Round 11: (8 SC, Dec) repeat 2 times. (18)
  • Round 12: (7 SC, Dec) repeat 2 times. (16)
  • Round 13: (6 SC, Dec) repeat 2 times. (14)
  • Round 14: (5 SC, Dec) repeat 2 times. (12)
  • Round 15: (2 SC, Dec) repeat 3 times. (9)
  • Round 16: (SC, Dec) repeat 3 times. (6)

Crochet Simple Snake 4

Attach eyes and finish stuffing before Round 15.

Finishing

  • Cut yarn leaving a long tail.
  • Tie off and thread tail with needle.
  • Weave through inside loops of last 6 stitches and pull to close.
  • Weave tail into body and cut excess yarn.
