Materials

  • Yarn: Big Twist Jar (6 oz / 170 G)
  • Hooks: 6 mm and 7 mm
  • Stitches: sc, sl st, hdc, ESC, BLO, V-stitch, ESC-dec

The Collar

  • Chain 7
  • Row 1: Skip first chain, sc in next 6 (6 sc)
  • Rows 2-56: Ch 1, turn, sc in BLO across (6 sc each row)
  • Join edges with sl st across 6 stitches
  • Ch 1 and flip inside out

The Yoke

  • Switch to 7 mm hook
  • Round 1: sc in every row around collar (56 sc), join with sl st
  • Rounds 2-16: Work raglan increases at 4 corners using V-stitch (hdc, ch 1, hdc) and ESC in all other stitches
  • After 16 rounds, stop increasing and prepare to join sleeves

Joining Sleeves

  • Slip st into corner V-stitch, ch 2, skip sleeve stitches, join to next V-stitch with ESC
  • Repeat for second sleeve
  • Continue working ESC in every stitch around body for length, changing colors as desired

Bottom Ribbing

  • With 7 mm hook, work 1 round sc around bottom edge
  • Switch to 6 mm hook, ch 9, sc in 8 chains
  • Join ribbing to body with 2 sl sts, turn, sc BLO across 8
  • Repeat all around bottom edge
  • Join final ribbing row to starting edge with sl st and fasten off

Sleeves

  • Attach yarn at armpit with 7 mm hook
  • Round 1: ESC-dec over first 2 sts, ESC to last 2, ESC-dec, join
  • Rounds 2-24: ESC in each st
  • Round 25: ESC-dec at start and end
  • Rounds 26-35: ESC evenly, making another decrease round, then 4 more rounds ESC

Sleeve Ribbing

  • With 7 mm hook, work 1 round sc around cuff
  • Switch to 6 mm hook, ch 9, sc in 8 chains, join to cuff with 2 sl sts
  • Work sc BLO across 8, repeat around cuff
  • Join final ribbing row with sl st and fasten off
  • Repeat for second sleeve
