Materials Needed:

Yarn:

  • Two cakes of peach perfect yarn (approximately 400g total)

Crochet Hooks:

  • 4mm and 4.5mm crochet hooks

Other Tools:

  • Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers, measuring tape

Starting Pattern

First Section - Collar:

Foundation Chain:

  • Chain a multiple of 6 stitches based on your measurements for the collar.

Round 1:

  • Half double crochet into the back bumps of the foundation chain to create a ribbing effect.

Rounds 2-15:

  • Continue with the ribbing pattern using alternating front post double crochets and back post double crochets. Change to a 4.5mm crochet hook after 10cm.

For Rounds 16-25:

  • Continue the ribbing pattern with the bigger hook.

Measurements:

  • Aim for the collar to be approximately 17cm tall.

Second Section - Granny Stitch Pattern:

  • Start with the granny stitch pattern at the top of the collar. Each round should follow the same pattern.

Two Corners:

  • Each half of the Poncho should have multiple of 3 stitches. Divide the total number of stitches by 2.

Repeating Rounds:

  • Continue repeating the granny stitch pattern until you reach your desired Poncho size. Make sure both sides have the same number of sets of three double crochets between the corners.

Third Section - Border:

Last Granny Stitch Round:

  • Finish the last round of the granny stitch pattern.

Border Pattern:

  • Start the border by slip stitching and chaining one into each stitch around the Poncho.

Completing the Border:
