Crochet Wrap Skirt

The step-by-step guide uses basic stitches like single and double crochet, making it a great project for beginners and seasoned crocheters alike. With the ability to adjust the length, width, and fit, you’ll be making this stylish skirt in all your favorite colors.
Materials
- Yarn of your choice (Paintbox Cotton 4-ply in mint green was used)
- 3.5 mm hook
- Two stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Waist Strap
- Start with a slip knot and chain a long length to wrap around your waist and tie comfortably (approx. 346 chains for medium size).
- Insert hook into the first stitch from the hook and work single crochets across the chain.
- If using thin yarn, chain one, turn, and add another row of single crochets.
- Fasten off and cut yarn when finished.

Main Skirt Part - Setup
- Wrap the strap around your waist and use stitch markers to mark where the skirt should begin and end. One end will be longer to wrap around.
- Attach your yarn at the first stitch marker.

Main Skirt Part - Body
- Chain two and double crochet from the first marker to the second marker.
- Wrap the strap around your waist again and mark the hip points with stitch markers.
- These will be your increase points.
- For each new row, chain two, turn your work, and double crochet to the first stitch marker.
At each marker, remove it, do two double crochets in the same stitch, and place the marker back into one of the new stitches.

- Continue double crocheting to the next stitch marker and repeat the increase.
- Work rows of double crochets with increases at the hip markers until you reach your desired length (the example has 42 rows total).
Final Touches - Single Crochet Edge
- Single crochet along the bottom edge until you reach the corner.
- At the corner, place one single crochet, then another in the same stitch to turn.

- Continue single crocheting along the side edges, inserting the hook into each gap along the side.
- Fasten off after completing all edges.
Weaving in Ends
- Thread your yarn ends with a tapestry needle.
- Weave the needle under and between stitches, preferably into the waist strap area.

- Pull through, stretch the fabric gently, pull the yarn again, and cut.
- Repeat the process for all remaining loose ends.
