Supplies
- ⅔ skein of Merino wool (weight 3)
- Darning needle
- Scissors
- 4.25 mm hook
Back Panel
- Foundation Chain: Create a foundation chain of 56 stitches, about 31 cm long for a size small.

Spider Stitches (Body):
- Row 1: Skip the first stitch, then single crochet, chain one, and single crochet into the second stitch from the hook.
- Repeat this pattern to the end of the row.
- Subsequent Rows: Turn your work.
- For each subsequent row, spider stitch into the chain one space of the previous row.
- Total Rows: Repeat this for a total of 18 rows.

Back Straps
- Starting the Strap: Work 13 spider stitches from the edge towards the middle.
- Decrease (Rows 1 & 2): Chain two and turn.
- Skip the first spider stitch and spider stitch into the second one.
- Continue with the remaining 11 spider stitches.
- Decrease (Rows 3 & 4): Turn and spider stitch as normal for 12 stitches.
- Single crochet into the chain space from the previous row.
- Chain two and turn.
- Skip the first spider stitch and spider stitch into the second one.
- Decrease (Rows 5 & 6): Start Row 5 with a decrease on the inside.
- After completing 11 stitches in Row 6, single crochet into the chain two space from the last row.
- Chain two, turn, and spider stitch into the second spider stitch of the row.

- Decreases on Both Edges: Starting from Row 7, decrease on both the interior and exterior edges for seven more rows, for a total of 14 rows of decreases.
- Final Strap Rows: Complete two more rows with no decreases, using the two remaining spider stitches.
- Second Strap: Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Pull the yarn through the loop.
- Insert your hook into the last spider stitch of the row on the other side, grab the yarn, pull through, chain one, and then turn to complete a spider stitch in the first stitch.
- Repeat the strap pattern on this side.
Front Panels (Make Two)
- Foundation Chain: Chain 24 stitches.
- Spider Stitches: Create 25 rows of spider stitches from this foundation chain.
- Decrease Rows: After 25 rows, start decreasing at the beginning of every row for 10 rows.
- To decrease: Chain two, skip the first spider stitch, and spider stitch into the second.
- At the end of a decrease row, single crochet into the two-chain space.

- Strap: The strap will be two clusters thick. Turn, and do two clusters of spider stitches. At the end of the row, single crochet into the chain two space. Continue back and forth with two clusters every row for 41 more rows, for a total of 42 rows.
- Repeat: Repeat this process to make the second front panel.
Blocking
- Block the pieces by getting them wet and letting them dry.

Edging
- Front Panels: Do not line the edge that will connect to the back panel. Line the bottom, the middle, the two sides of the main panel, and both sides of the strap (but not the top of the strap). Start in the corner of the strap. Pull yarn through, chain one for height, and single crochet across. Place one single crochet along each edge of the project, along each row. For the decrease sections, put one single crochet on the edge of each row. When reaching a corner, continue around without detaching the yarn. If you started at the bottom of one front panel and went clockwise, start at the top of the other front panel and go clockwise to ensure the edging matches.
- Back Panel: Edge the bottom and the top. Leave the side edges unlined.
Assembly
- Line up the pieces, ensuring the outside faces inward.
- Attach the two sides of the back panel to the front panels.
- Attach the straps.
- Use a long tail of yarn to join the edges by sewing them together, aiming for about one stitch per row.
- Create a foundation chain to use as a string to attach the two front pieces together. Thread this through the front.

Weaving in Ends
- Weave in all remaining ends by going back and forth through the stitches.
