Make your own crochet water bottle holder is a fun and practical project. With just some yarn and a crochet hook, you can make a stylish and useful holder for your water bottle. This crochet accessory ensures your hydration is always within reach, whether you're out for a walk, enjoying a picnic, or just need an easy way to carry your drink.

Materials Needed:

  • Craft Smart (Number 4 Medium Weight Yarn) - Acrylic (110 yards approx.)
  • 4mm Crochet Hook

Pattern Steps:

Base:

Start with a Magic Ring:

  • Wrap yarn around fingers, insert hook to pull a loop.
  • Chain 1 to secure the magic ring. (Alternatively, create a slip knot, chain 4, and slip stitch into the first chain for a simpler start.)

After Round 1:

  • Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet).
  • Make 11 double crochets into the ring.
  • Pull yarn tail to close the ring.
  • Slip stitch on top of the third chain. (Total 12 double crochets including the chain 3.)

Round 2:

  • Chain 3 (first double crochet).
  • Make 1 more double crochet in the same stitch.
  • Make 2 double crochets in each stitch around.
  • Slip stitch on top of the third chain. (24 double crochets total.)

Round 3:

  • Chain 3 (first double crochet).
  • 2 double crochets in the next stitch.
  • 1 double crochet in the next, 2 double crochets in the following.
  • Repeat this pattern around and slip stitch using back loop only. (36 double crochets total.)

Adjusting Size:

  • If a larger base is needed, increase by adding one double crochet between increases each round.

Height:

Round 4 (Creating Space for Water Bottle):

  • Work in back loops only, chain 4 (counts as first double crochet and chain 1).
  • Skip one stitch, double crochet in the next using the back loop, chain 1.
  • Repeat around and slip stitch into the third chain. (18 chain-1 spaces total.)

Round 5:

  • Chain 4, double crochet on top of the double crochet from the previous round, chain 1.
  • Repeat this pattern around, slip stitch into the third chain.

Repeat Round 5 for Rounds 6 to 17:

  • Consider marking rounds with a stitch marker.

Round 18 (Top Edge):

  • Single crochet all around: 36 single crochets total.
  • Slip stitch to close.

Strap:

Building the Strap:

  • Chain 1, make 3 single crochets.
  • Turn work, do not chain, single crochet back across the 3 single crochets.
  • Continue the pattern for 37 inches or desired length (162 rows approx.).

Attaching the Strap:

  • Count 15 single crochets from where strap starts, place marker on the 16th.
  • Join strap end to this point ensuring it is not twisted.
  • Single crochet across both pieces to attach strap.

Finishing Touches:

Weave in Ends:

  • Secure and cut yarn tails.
