Creating the Granny Square
- Start with a loop and crochet 16 double crochets into the loop
- Pull the yarn tail to close the loop
- Work six-loop stitches around the first row, repeating 16 times

Pull all loops and close them together
- In each space, work one and a half stitches (3 stitches per hole), repeating 16 times
- After every group, chain 2 and move to the next hole
- Begin forming the square shape with 6 double crochets for each side
