Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: Bernat Blanket (Weight 6) for a larger version, or Big Twist Posh for smaller version in colors:
  • Main Body Color: Croissant
  • Accent (face, ears, feet, tail): Brown Butter
  • Black for the nose
  • Stuffing: Any brand or size
  • Tools: Sharp scissors, stitch marker, tapestry needle (metal with a big eye), 12 mm safety eyes, crochet hooks (4.5 mm for Big Twist Posh, 6 or 6.5 mm for Bernat Blanket)

Crochet Pattern:

Magic Ring:

  • Make a magic ring using the darker accent color yarn.
  • Single crochet 6 into the magic ring.

For Round 2 (Increase Round):

  • Perform an increase in each stitch (2 single crochets in one space) around for a total of 12 stitches.

Round 3 (Color Change & Increase):

  • Start with an increase, but change to the main body color on the first stitch.
  • Increase, then single crochet 1. Repeat this pattern 6 times for a total of 18 stitches.
  • Keep the brown yarn connected for later use.

Round 4:

  • Increase, then single crochet 2 in the main body color. Repeat this pattern 6 times for a total of 24 stitches.

In Round 5 (Ears Formation):

  • Single crochet 17, then change to the darker accent color.
  • In the next stitch, crochet 1 double, 1 triple, and 1 double crochet to form an ear.
  • Switch back to the main body color and complete the round to 24 stitches, including creating the second ear in the same fashion.

Round 6 (Face Definition):

  • Execute single crochets in the back loops only to define the face from the body, maintaining the total stitch count.

Rounds 7 - 9 (Body and Feet Introduction):

  • Continue with main body color for regular single crochets.
  • Incorporate bobble stitches in the accent color for the feet at the specified intervals.

Adding Eyes and Nose:

  • Position safety eyes between rounds 2 and 3.
  • Sew on the nose using black yarn.

Rounds 10 - 11 (Continuation and Shaping):

  • Continue with the body, introducing back feet with bobble stitches as in the previous foot rounds.
  • Maintain even rounds of simple single crochets for shaping.

Rounds 12 - 14 (Decrease for Head Shaping):

  • Start to decrease using invisible decrease techniques to shape the head and close off the body, ensuring to stuff the amigurumi firmly.

Tail:

  • Transition to the accent yarn attached at the back.
  • Chain 5, then work single crochets down the chain, attaching it to form the tail.

Finishing Touches:

  • Weave in all ends securely.
  • Add any additional details or embellishments as desired.
