Crochet Planet Keychain
Materials Needed:
- Cotton yarn (The tutorial uses KMÅ cotton, a recycled cotton yarn)
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Darning needle (for weaving in ends)
- Stuffing material
Pattern:
Starting with the Pink Yarn:
Magic Circle:
- Make a magic circle with 6 sc. Alternatively, chain 2 and make 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook.
Round 2:
- Increase (inc) in each stitch around (12 sc).
Round 3:
- Sc 1, inc repeat 6 times (18 sc).
After Round 4:
- Sc 2, inc repeat 6 times (24 sc).
Round 5:
- Sc 3, inc repeat 6 times (30 sc).
Round 6:
- Sc 4, inc repeat 6 times (36 sc).
In Round 7:
- Sc in each stitch around (36 sc).
Color Change to Blue Yarn:
Round 8 (Front Loops Only):
- Hdc 2, hdc increase repeat 12 times (48 stitches).
Back to Pink Yarn:
Round 9 (Back Loops Only):
- Sc in each stitch around (36 sc).
Another Color Change to Blue Yarn:
Round 10:
- Sc in each stitch around (36 sc).
Back to Pink Yarn:
Round 11 (Front Loops Only):
- Repeat the pattern for Round 8.
Finishing the Body in Blue Yarn:
In Round 12 (Back Loops Only):
- Sc in each stitch around (36 sc).
Round 13:
- Sc 4, dec repeat 6 times (30 sc).
Round 14:
- Sc 3, dec repeat 6 times (24 sc). Cut off the pink yarn; you won't need it anymore.
For Round 15:
- Sc 2, dec repeat 6 times (18 sc).
Round 16:
- Sc 1, dec repeat 6 times (12 sc). Start stuffing the planet.
Round 17:
- Dec 6 times (6 sc). Add any additional stuffing if needed and then close the hole with a few more decreases or until you feel it's closed adequately.
Finishing Touches:
- Weave in all ends securely. Tighten the magic circle if necessary and hide the yarn end inside.
