Materials
- 6 mm crochet hook
- Chunky yarn approximately 2 skeins
- Scissors
- Yarn needle

Foundation Row
- Make a foundation chain in multiples of 3
- Chain 33 for the size shown
- Double crochet in the 5th chain from the hook
- Double crochet in each chain across to the end

Row 2
- Chain 2 and turn
- Skip the first stitch
- Work one front post double crochet in the next stitch
- Work one double crochet in the following stitch
- Repeat two front post double crochets and one double crochet across the row
- End with one double crochet in the second chain of the turning chain

Row 3
- Chain 2 and turn
- Skip the first stitch
- Work one double crochet in each of the next two stitches
- Work one front post double crochet around the next stitch
- Repeat two double crochets and one front post double crochet across the row

Body of the Cowl
- Repeat Row 2 and Row 3 until the piece reaches your desired height
- The sample cowl measures approximately 28 inches before joining

Finishing and Assembly
- Chain 1 and fasten off, leaving a long tail
- Lay the two short ends together with right sides facing
- Insert the hook through both layers and single crochet along the edge to join
- Work three single crochets in each corner to keep edges smooth
- Fasten off and weave in all loose ends
