Materials
- Acrylic yarn in weight four
- 4.25 mm or 4.5 mm crochet hook
- Darning needle
- Scissors
Starting the Top (Two Options)

Option 1: Starting with Chains
- Make a slip knot and chain from one shoulder blade to the other, going around the front.
- Add one extra chain at the end.
- Half double crochet in the second chain from the hook and across the row.
- Chain one, turn your work, and half double crochet across each row, avoiding the turning chain at the end.
- Continue until your top reaches the desired length.
Option 2: Foundation Half Double Crochets
- Chain one, then two more chains.
- Yarn over, go through the side of the second chain, and complete a half double crochet foundation stitch.
- Continue making foundation half double crochets until the width covers from one shoulder blade to the other.
- Chain one, turn, and half double crochet across each row.
- Repeat until the piece reaches the desired length.
Finishing the Main Body
- Chain one, cut the yarn, and pull it through to tighten.
Adding the Straps

Lacing Strap
- Make a slip knot and chain around 100 stitches.
- Add one chain at the end and cut the yarn.
- Thread the chain through the top corners.
- Lace it through each "U" down the side of the top, starting from the bottom.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
Shoulder Straps
- Try on the top and mark the placement for the shoulder straps.
