Waistband – Row 1 (Foundation Chain and First Row)
- Measure the widest part of your hips to determine the length of your foundation chain.
- Chain an even number of stitches to match your measurement (e.g., 115 chains).
- Join with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a loop, making sure not to twist.
- Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), or make 1 single crochet plus 2 chains.

Repeat:
- Skip the next stitch.
- Double crochet into the back loop of the following chain.
- Continue the repeat pattern around.
- If a chain remains at the end, skip it.
- Slip stitch to the third chain of the starting chain-three (or second chain of sc + ch2 setup).
Waistband – Row 2
- Chain 3 (or sc + 2 chains).
- Chain 1 (creates a chain-one space).
- Double crochet into the next double crochet from the previous row.
- Repeat:
- Chain 1.
- Double crochet into the next double crochet.
- At the end of the round:
- Chain 1.
- Slip stitch to the third chain (or second chain of the sc + ch2).

Skirt Body – Row 3
- Chain 3 (or sc + 2 chains).
- Make 3 double crochets into the next double crochet.
- Make 1 double crochet into the following double crochet.
- Repeat:

- 1 double crochet into the next.
- Slip stitch to the third chain (or second chain) at the start to close the round.

Skirt Body – Row 4 and Onwards (Repeating Pattern)

- Locate the group of 3 double crochets from the previous row.
