Materials

  • Yarn: Himalaya Everyday (100% acrylic anti-pilling) in three colors - white, blue, and beige
  • Hook: 3 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • bp sc: back post single crochet

Making Process

  1. With color A (beige), start by chaining 88.
  2. Row 1: Chain 2, then 1 hdc in each stitch.
  3. Row 2: Chain 3, followed by 1 puffy v-stitch, skip 2 repeated across, ending the row with 1 dc worked into the turning chain.
  4. Rows 3-10: Repeat row 2.
  5. Row 11: Chain 2, 1 hdc in each stitch.
  6. Switch to color B (white). Rows 12-13: Chain 2, 1 hdc in each stitch.
  7. Switch to color C (pink). Row 14: Chain 2, 1 hdc in each stitch.
  8. Rows 15-23: Repeat row 2.
  9. Continue with the established pattern, alternating between color blocks following the sequence provided in the raw results, and finishing with layers of hdc rows for a smoother edge.

Border

  1. Start with color B (white) and attach yarn to any stitch on the short edge but not the corner stitch.
  2. Row 1 of border: 1 hdc into each stitch and 3 sc into each corner stitch.
  3. Row 2 of border: 1 bp sc in each stitch, with 1 bp sc, 1 ch, 1 bp sc, 1 ch, 1 bp sc in each corner stitch.
  4. Rows 3 and 4: 1 hdc in each stitch, with 2 hdc in the first corner stitch, 1 hdc, then 2 hdc in the next corner stitch.
  5. Switch to color A (beige) for Row 5: 1 bpsc in each stitch and close the blanket with a slip stitch.
