Rug Construction Steps:

- Start: With MC, chain 4. Refer to the diagram on page 3 for further assistance.
- First Round: 11 dc in 4th chain from hook. Join to form a circle. Total of 12 dc.
- Second Round: Chain 3. 1 dc in first dc. 2 dc in each dc around. Join. Total of 24 dc.
- Third Round: Chain 3. 2 dc in next dc, *1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Total of 36 dc.
- Continue through rounds, following the pattern increase as specified, until the rug reaches the desired diameter and pattern conclusion.
9th Round:
- Begin with a chain 3. Make 1 double crochet in each of the next 4 double crochets.
- *2 double crochets in next stitch, then 1 double crochet each in the next 5 double crochets. Repeat from * to last 2 stitches.
- Finish with 1 double crochet in the second-to-last stitch, and 2 double crochets in the last stitch. Join the round. Total of 120 double crochets.
10th Round:
- Chain 3. *2 double crochets in the next stitch, then 1 double crochet in each of the next 7 stitches. Repeat from * to the last 7 stitches.

11th to 21st Rounds:
