Materials
- Double-knit or worsted-weight yarn
- 4mm or 5mm crochet hook
Create a Slip Knot and Chain
- Begin with a slip knot on your hook.
- Chain 30 to 34 stitches, or to your desired length. A looser chain works best.

Join the Chain into a Ring
- Ensure the chain is not twisted.
- Join by inserting your hook into the first chain stitch and completing a slip stitch.

Crochet the First Row
- Chain two (this does not count as a stitch).
- Work a double crochet (US term) into the same chain where you joined.
- Continue double crochet all the way around the ring.

Complete the Rows and Finish the First Link
- Join the last stitch to the top of the first stitch with a slip stitch.
- Complete three rows for a single link.
- Trim the yarn and fasten it off by pulling the yarn tail through the final loop.

Create Subsequent Links and Join Them
- Start with a new color yarn and repeat the process from Step 1.
- Before joining the new chain into a ring, thread it through the previously made link.
- Once threaded, join the new chain to itself with a slip stitch.
- Repeat the pattern to crochet three rows of double crochet stitches for each new link.

- Continue until your desired garland length is achieved.
