Mesh Body
Mesh Pattern (First Row)

- Skip 2 stitches, double crochet in the third. Repeat around.
Repeat Mesh Rows
- Chain 5 at the beginning of each row.
- Double crochet into the dc of the previous row.
- Repeat the mesh pattern for a total of 13 rows.
Adding the Heart

Placing the Heart
- Fold the piece flat and place a marker at the center front.
- Work mesh pattern as usual until one space before the marked center.
Start of Heart
- Chain 1 (instead of 2).
- Remove the marker and make 3 double crochets in the next stitch.
- Chain 1, then double crochet in the next dc.
- Resume mesh pattern to complete the row.
Heart Expansion (Rows 2–6)
Each row, before and after the heart:
- Chain 1 instead of 2 where needed to maintain spacing.
Increase the number of double crochets in the heart:
- Row 2: 2 dc in first and last heart dc, 1 dc in the middle.
- Row 3: 2 dc in first and last, 1 dc in the next 3.
- Row 4–6: Continue increasing by placing 2 dc at the edges and 1 dc in the center stitches.
Shaping the Armholes

Marking Armholes
- Fold the top flat again.
- Place a center marker on both sides.
- From the center, count 5 stitches outward and mark the start and end of an 11-stitch armhole.
- Repeat for the other armhole.
Creating First Armhole
- Continue mesh pattern to the first armhole marker.
- Remove the marker, double crochet into the stitch.
- Chain 32 to create the armhole.
- Join with a double crochet at the second marker.
- Resume mesh pattern.
Continuing Heart and Second Armhole

Heart Rows After Armholes
- Continue building the heart using the increasing double crochet rows.
When the heart reaches its peak width, cluster the top 7 stitches:
- Yarn over, pull through each of the 7 dc, then pull through all 8 loops on hook.
- Chain 6, repeat on the last dc of the cluster to make the top of the heart.
Second Armhole
Reach the second armhole markers and repeat the same process:
- Chain 33 stitches for the opening.
- Connect with a dc at the next marked stitch.
Sleeves and Body Extension

Working Sleeve Mesh
Work mesh pattern into the sleeve chain loops:
- Dc, ch 2, skip 2, dc (repeat across).
Final Shaping Around Heart
- 7 spaces before the heart, adjust by chaining 1 instead of 2.
- Add heart cluster as previously described.
- Work mesh rows around sleeves and body maintaining the established pattern.
Decreasing in Sleeves
- At each sleeve start, skip 2 stitches for a slight taper.
- Repeat this decrease at the start of each sleeve row for a better fit.
Body Extension
- Continue working in mesh rounds.
- Switch back to ch-2 spacing where previously ch-1 was used (after heart section is done).
- Make a total of 25 rows of mesh pattern for the full body length.

Fastening Off

- Weave in ends securely.
Adding Ribbon Neckline (Optional)
