If you love the cozy look of Crochet granny squares but want a sweater that feels modern and wearable, this easy top down granny square sweater is a perfect project. You’ll start with a stretchy ribbed collar, then build the yoke in granny stitch rounds that shape the shoulders, front, and back.
Crochet Granny Square Sweater

Once the yoke fits comfortably under the arms, you’ll separate for the body and sleeves, making it simple to try on as you go and adjust the length or fit. Finish with optional fitted sleeve decreases and the same ribbed band technique for cuffs and the bottom hem, so the sweater looks polished and stays comfy. It’s a great pattern for customizing color, adding stripes, or keeping it classic in one shade.
